Overview of Recent Projects undertaken

Financial Controls Improvement Programme
Lead a Financial Controls Improvement Programme for Playtech plc, an international FTSE 250 organisation operating in the online gambling and games sector. Designed the response from a Big R review of the Financial Control Environment. After Audit Committee Approval, set up the programme and ran the PMO with support from the Big 4 firm staff to document the processes and controls in 10 key Financial areas, including, P2P, R2R, Group Reporting, Treasuring, Fixed Assets, O2C and specialist areas. Ran the Controls Testing Pilot and prepared handover to newly recruited Controls Manager.

Risk Strategy Review
Appointed by a FTSE 250 plc to help new Risk Director reshape their risk management strategy including review, redesign and partial implementation. Conducted a Discovery stage which assessed strengths and opportunities of current framework. Based on outcome a Strategy for an expanded approach was agreed with due regard for the new UK Corporate Governance Code. Apfter approval from the Audit and Risk Commnittte, ZCL was requested to start implementation while the business sourced permenant resource. Design and implementation of SharePoint site for risk education and awareness, approach for Integrated Assurance, support for Principal Risk assessments and horizon scanning.

Assurance Service Support
Advising on the design of auditing services for a consultancy operating in the television audience measurement sector. This client now provides assurance services for its major customer over a key supplier to that customer. Client had deep knowledge of sector services but no experience of auditing other companies. Worked with Programme lead and team to help design approach through as Discovery year followed by Fieldwork assignments in year two and three.
